STMicroelectronics to Acquire NXP’s MEMS Sensors Business
STMicroelectronics announced plans to acquire NXP Semiconductors’ MEMS sensors business for up to $950 million (US$900 million upfront plus $50 million contingent) to strengthen its sensor portfolio across automotive, industrial and consumer markets. NXP’s MEMS unit generated about $300 million in revenue in 2024 with high margins. The all‑cash deal, financed from existing liquidity, is expected to close in the first half of 2026 pending regulatory approvals.
