UK Anticipates Issuance of £304 Billion in Bonds for Fiscal Year 2025/26
Facing sluggish growth and rising borrowing costs, the UK is set to increase its government bond issuance. A Reuters poll estimates around £304 billion in bonds will be issued, surpassing the current mandate of £296.9 billion. This would be the second-highest issuance on record, following the pandemic-driven borrowing in 2020/21.
